Mumbai Metropolitan Region Environment Improvement Society
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region – Environment Improvement Society (MMR-EIS) was established in 1996 by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to promote improvement of environment in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) through studies, surveys, demonstrations, investigations, research and related activities.
Since 1996, the Society has supported a variety of initiatives by research organisations, NGOs, Government bodies etc. towards Environment Improvement in the areas of Environmental Research, Technological Innovation, Implementation of Environmental Projects, Awareness creation and Training.
The Climate Change related Resources and Tools is a project supported by the MMR-EIS to create awareness on Global Warming and the associated Climate Change related impacts. The project also aims to encourage various stakeholders such as citizens, policy makers, students and industrial & commercial personnel in taking actions for mitigation and adaption to impacts of climate change in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
