In order to meet the various aspects of environment management and improvement a series of training programs has been designed targeted towards diverse stakeholders. This Course has been designed and subsidized by the MMR Environment Improvement Society Conducted by KJ Somaiya College of Science & Commerce, Mumbai, this Modular Course can completed between one or two years, and a Diploma is awarded after an examination.
Objective :Objective of this program is to build capacity on practical implications of urban development & planning policies for environment management.
Trainers: This programme is conducted by subject experts from all over the country.
Pedagogy: Lectures, presentations, field visits, group presentations and self-study
Five Modules:
- Environmental Policy and Planning
- Green Built Environment
- Environment & Social Impact Assessment
- Sustainable Cities
- Blue-Green Infrastructure for Climate Resilience
Structure: Five modules as mentioned above. A student may apply for either or all of the above modules and complete them over a maximum of two years. Each module requires physical attendance at Mumbai for a week. Students have to give presentations/written assignment .Those who attend only the individual modules are awarded a certificate of participation for that module. For Diploma students who appear for all five modules, exams are held every year and a diploma is jointly awarded to successful participants by KJ Somaiya College & MMR-EIS.
Applicants: Graduate degree in any discipline, Diploma & Practical Experience.
Institutions: Institutions like Municipal Corporation, MMRDA, NGOs, Architecture, Environmental science, Engineering, Management Colleges may depute suitable candidates.
Fees: The subsidized course fee per module is INR 5000/-. If aparticipant registers for all five modules, a concessional fee of INR 20,000/- is charged and it is payable by DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce'.
