Any Indian, government or non-Government organization like local authorities, academic institutions, activist groups, research organizations, community based organizations, professional bodies and independent professionals / researchers can apply. Such organizations, groups, individuals should be based in India and should apply for projects dealing environmental issues within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Collaboration between local bodies and other organizations / individuals is encouraged. Involvement and commitment from local bodies is particularly sought in projects that deal with issues which come under the jurisdiction of such local bodies or when such local bodies are expected to be active stakeholders in the development of the project. Partnership with local communities, co-funding agencies, etc. would become necessary if they are expected to be involved as stakeholders in the project or are direct beneficiaries.
