The main objectives of the project were:
- Conserve the fragile ecology of the environs of Nhava
- Preservation of precious mango cover of Nhava
- Promote awareness regarding marine ecology and the country's rich maritime heritage
- Promote tourism and sustained economy of this region
In order to achieve the above set objectives the proponent installed a waste water treatment plant which had low maintenance cost and remodelled an already established ecology gallery and a boat shed. In order to spread publicity and awareness workshops and seminars were hosted. The proponent also installed computerized interactive stations for conducting quiz shows.
